This is the second time I’ve used this contractor. He remodeled a bathroom for me this time. He is extremely punctual and made this an enjoyable experience. I will continue to use him in the future for whatever projects I have. He was extremely reliable. He was on time everyday. He stayed late if he had to everyday to finish what he said he was going to get done. He never asked for more than a week’s worth of money. He never said that he needed $30000 for the next couple of weeks. He had itemized receipts on everything. It was an extremely good experience with a contractor. I have already recommended him and he is on my list for future projects.
Our gym space was renovated in the spring of 2012. The plumbing was done “dumb”, the toilet stopped up 6 times in as many months. Thomas Koch responded to my phone call within an hour, had the proposal in the next day, and was on the job the day after. What a stroke of luck o find him.
I couldn’t have asked for better quality work from Thomas and his crew. They spent two weeks completing the job which was exactly the time estimate for work. Thomas came to the house to give an estimate for labor, including electricians and plumbers. He was spot on with their costs. The electrician and plumbers were excellent and offered advice when needed. Thomas also helped me with some ideas. He sent me an estimate that evening. I spent the next day on the internet looking for vanity, sink, toilet, cabinets, and jet tub. I decided that Lowes had the best selection. I went to the Lowes on Claiborne and worked with Julia who helped me with coordinating everything. I decided to purchase off the floor because of the cost advantage. I then went out of town for two weeks. Lowes held all of the items and Thomas picked it up in stages. It was seemless. Thomas ended up making a couple of extra trips to Lowes for me due to a broken sink and wrong shower door. He took away all of the trash and cleaned up every day. I recommend using the Renaissance Man for any renovation project.
From the start! i felt confident that Thomas knew what he was doing and actually tried to save me money during the process. His crew was on time every day, an cleaned up thoroughly and did a great job. I plan to use at Thomas in the future and I strongly recommend that others use his services. Honest, prompt and reliable.
Removed kitchen wall to open up kitchen to dining room. The wall was structural, so had to reinforce and transfer load. Thomas inslalled a beam that I had, a bar and bricks for aesthetics. Best of all, he figured out how to transfer the load better than SES’s engineer (who quite honestly was a waste of money). Thomas also doesn’t try to make a profit on materials or other services he coordinates. He charged be exactly what the garbage pick-up cost and exactly what the materials cost. So he really only charges for labor.
I met with the day after I contacted and received estimated. He begin work few days after I accepted his estimated. He was there every day until he was finished. He and his crew did excellent work, he even did work I didn’t ask him to. He swept all floors and put trash away. I am very pleased with the job he did. He exceeded my expectations!
Description of work: Demo and replacement of all bathroom cabinets, flooring and tub surround, and painting. Thomas and his crew were very professional. All work was done as promised and on time. We were very comfortable with Thomas from day one and we will definitely hire him again for for any future projects.
I own a diner a small creole cottage and and several other properties I only use Thomas He shows up on time he is focused on the work that needs to be done. His crew is trust worthy and reliable. He is one of the most honest men I have ever met I will only use Thomas.

n September of 2012 I hired a “contractor” to turn a 400sf shed into a pool house/guest house. This guy told me it would be a 6-8 week job. 8 1/2 months later and he had gone through $58,000 of the $60,000 agreed on price. I never met a guy with so many excuses. So I fired the guy and then decided to join Angie’s List. That was the 2nd best $15 I ever spent. The best $15,000 I ever spent was hiring Thomas Koch to complete the project. I called him on a Monday and he met me on Tuesday to look at the job and give me a price. He told me he thought the job would take 8 days to complete. They started the following Monday and hit it hard with 2 guys doing construction, 3 electricians and 2 plumbers. The plumbers and 2 electricians were done after day 1. The other days he had 4 workers on the job and 1 electrician for most of it. These guys worked from 8:30am until 5-5:30pm. And true to Thomas’ word, they were finished in 8 days. The work included: painting the entire interior and ceiling, installing blinds on 5 windows, tiling the huge shower stall and the other parts of the floor that was unfinished, installing a huge glass backsplash in the kitchen, painting kitchen cabinets and installing handles, building and installing a huge Murphy bed, multiple pot lights, repairing an outside brick deck, installing various doors and a pocket door, building storage shelves, fence repair, installing ceiling fan and so much more. The workers were professional and very conscientious and cleaned up their messes every day. Our place looks great and we could not be more satisfied.
I loved that they were able to do the job in a timely manner and fit me in the schedule. They did extra work that wasn’t aggreed on without charging extra.
